September 2010

Monthly Overview

I don't think that I have ever seen such a dramatic turnaround or two side to side months that were so extreme in their differences, for as difficult and challenging as the conditions were in August, in September the very reverse is true. Advisories are turning into allies and records are being broken across a number of areas of your chart. In August we had some of the worst conditions I've ever seen compacted into one month, yet in September we have some of the best conditions I've seen compacted into one month. This creates one of the most dramatic turnarounds I've ever seen, with conditions going from very bad to very good within just a few weeks. It's as though some master switch has been flicked in the heavens that suddenly turns the lights on, taking us out of the darkness and into the light.

This dramatic change is going to be more apparent because it is playing out against the backdrop of the changing seasons, so we're seeing change all around us and we're feeling it internally as well and this time change in the air is very sweet.

It's in Aries that we are already feeling the change with pressure on Jupiter, planet of luck, already diminishing to a point where there's just enough to keep you motivated.

Jupiter has only been in Aries since the 6th June, but on the 9th September he'll leave, just 3 months and 3 days later. Considering that Jupiter normally spends around 12 months in each area of your chart, this may on face value look like you've been cheated, but Jupiter has some very special back ups and his departure is sweetened by the fact that he'll return in January and that he'll take any remaining pressure with him.

It's 2 weeks after Jupiter leaves that a Full Moon falls in Aries, on the 23rd September. This falls 2 weeks to the day after Jupiter leaves and this is going to act as a trigger for anything left behind, giving you a chance to scour the battlefield for the spoils of war. This is also going to bring things in the Aries ruled area of your chart to a head again, giving you a chance to keep the momentum going or to opportunities that only after Jupiter has gone that you can fully appreciate. Either way this is a very important Full Moon, falling as it does just 2 weeks after Jupiter left.

However important this Full Moon is it's not a stand alone, in that it's not all or nothing, for there is a second Full Moon next week, once again in Aries, to back this one up. This makes the Full Moon this month a twin, part of a pair and therefore not a stand alone, with things that come to a head during the Full Moon this month, playing into the Full Moon next month. Having a pair of Full Moons in Aries, especially after Jupiter has just left, is going to keep things in motion, hopefully until Jupiter returns in the New Year.

A pair of Full Moons in the same sign isn't rare, happening on average every second year, with a pair of New Moons in the same sign in the intervening year. It happens when a Full Moon falls within 24 hours of the Sun moving into a sign, which means that the Moon's 29.5 day orbit brings him back before the Sun can leave, creating two Full Moons in one sign. That's the case this month, with the Sun moving into Libra on the 23rd September, the same day as the Full Moon. The Full Moon falls just 6 hours after the Sun moves into Libra, but only 30 minutes after the Moon moves into Aries, so it may catch you by surprise.

So while a pair of Full Moons in the same sign in consecutive months isn't rare, what is more rare is where it's happening and when. With the first Full Moon falling just 2 weeks after Jupiter left it was also going to be a case of perfect timing, but what is even more extraordinary is that the last time we had a pair of Full Moons in Aries was in 1991, 19 years ago. After not having a pair of Full Moons in Aries for 19 years it happens just after Jupiter leaves and when you're most in need of keeping things in motion until he returns in January, coincidence?

Apart from the Full Moons, on the 23rd September and the 23rd October, once Jupiter leaves Aries on the 9th September there'll be no more activity here until the 23rd January, which means there'll be no more pressure on the planets in Libra, which is what caused all the problems last month.

This is giving conditions in the Libra ruled area of your chart a real break, with a real resurgence already underway before Jupiter leaves, that is expected to move into overdrive from the 9th September.

Part of that reason is Jupiter getting out of the way, but the other reason is that Venus is leave Libra on the 9th September as well, moving into Scorpio and leaving Mars as the lead planet. Mars has been stuck behind Venus for weeks now, for with the planet of desire slowing down to near Mars' speed, she never got more than a few degrees ahead, causing the planet of passion, drive and ambition and the planet that needs to be active, to get stuck in a traffic jam. Venus' departure means that he can finally get things moving in the Libra ruled area of your chart. Due to leave just 6 days later, on the 15th September, Mars' ability to finally make things happen, coupled with the urgency of knowing he's about to leave and Jupiter moving out of opposition, all at the same time, is likely to result in some rapid leaps forward in the Libra ruled area of your chart. Your Individual Monthly Horoscope Reports will outline which area of your chart this is and what it means, but for an example for Capricorn's this is your career sector and for Virgo's this is your income sector.

Once Mars leaves Libra on the 15 September there'll be a gap of just 8 days before the Sun arrives on the 23rd September, which will give Saturn a chance to reflect and cement and claim his power. In the time since Saturn moved into Libra he's experienced some of the worst pressure that this area of your chart has ever experienced, all condensed into one month, but he's also experienced some of the best support. For from Venus' arrival in Libra on the 7th August to her departure on the 9th September, you've had Venus, Mars and Saturn together here, for the first time in 60 years. This has given you the desire, the passion and the commitment to move mountains if you have to.

Venus' departure from Libra on the 9th September is not the last we'll see of her though, for she'll return in November, for a short double dip visit, from the 8th to the 30th November. Having Venus retrograde back into the sign she's just left is not rare, but what is rare is it to happen in Libra, something that hasn't happened since 1903, 107 years ago. This is going to create second chances in the Libra ruled area of your chart that you've never experienced in your lifetime, with the heavens working to make up for the challenges last month.

At the same time there is something very special happening in Pisces this month and once again, the heavens seem to be in payback mode. The Pisces ruled area of your chart has had to endure more than any other area of your chart over recent years, with Saturn in opposition from September 2007 to October 2009 and again from April to July 2010. That didn't matter much after the 6th June, because Jupiter and Uranus had both left Pisces, so there were no planets to feel the wrath of Saturn's pressure. This meant you caught a break, not because the conditions improved, but because everything was shelved. I think Uranus and Jupiter put up the short shutters, battened down the hatches and left, promising to return when the coast was clear.

Well the coast is not only clear, there has been even a more dramatic turnaround here. When Uranus returned to Pisces last month, for a short wrap up period, the first thing that the planet of surprise and synchronicity would have noticed was the lack of pressure. For Saturn is gone from Virgo, opposing sign to Pisces and he won't be back until 2038.

This means the coast is clear for Jupiter, planet of luck to return, which he does on the 9th September. That's when something truly magical starts to take place, on a number of different levels.

Before even going into what's happening in Pisces this month, Jupiter's return here and Venus' move on the same day not only takes them out of opposition, but Jupiter moves back into a Water ruled sign and Venus moves forward into a Water ruled sign, putting the planets of desire and luck at the most positive angle possible - talk about a turnaround!

Not only putting Venus and Jupiter, the two most magical and lucky planets in the solar system in bed together, it creates some very special conditions in the Pisces and Scorpio ruled areas of your chart.

Jupiter's return to Pisces is extremely rare, for a number of reasons. Firstly, any Jupiter double dip is auspicious, for unlike the majority of the other planets who often retrograde back to a sign they've left or forward then back after leaving, as is the case with his visit to Aries, this is something that Jupiter only does once a decade or once during a 12 year Jupiter cycle. The last time this happened was in 1999, when Jupiter moved between Aries and Taurus. A double dip Jupiter visit means that life's wheel of fortune turns back for a second time, something that rarely happens.

While this does happen once a decade, the last time Jupiter left Pisces and then returned for a double dip visit was in 1950. So unless you're 60 or over, this is the first time in your lifetime that lightening will strike twice, with your luck shifting and then returning.

However, something even more rare is taking place and that's an alignment between Jupiter and Uranus in Pisces, at the same time that Jupiter is making a rare double dip visit. Jupiter and Uranus align on average every 14 to 15 years, normally two or three times over the space of a year and then not again for another 14 to 15 years. Jupiter and Uranus spend time together in Pisces from the 18th January to the 6th June 2010 but they didn't align, even though they did come close. The same happened the last time that Jupiter and Uranus were together here in Pisces, from January 1927 to January 1928, 82 years ago. That time they got to just under 2 degrees separation, but they never aligned. The last time Jupiter and Uranus actually aligned in Pisces was in 1334 - 676 years ago. So quite literally the last time that the Pisces ruled area of your chart was as lucky as it's going to be from the 9th September was in the Dark Ages. If it feels like it's been since the Dark Ages that you've had luck on your side, in the Pisces ruled area of your chart, you'd be right. What are the chances then that this is happening just as Jupiter is making a rare double dip visit?

To find out where these extremely lucky forces will be focused in your chart, the Individual Monthly Horoscope Reports will have all the details, but for an example lets just say that Scorpio's are going to be very lucky in love, while Librans will experience this on the work front.

It's because the Pisces ruled area of your chart was under pressure for so long and because your luck turned before it even had a chance to set in, that this created a situation where at the start of the month this is the area of your chart where you have the least hope, yet how wrong you'd be.

The list of opportunities and fortunate circumstances continues to roll out this month, with even Venus' return to Scorpio on the 9th September far from ordinary. Yet she'll play a big support role to Jupiter and Uranus in Pisces, but she has her own special things going on here. For while Venus will arrive in Scorpio on the 9th September, she won't finish her visit here until the 8th January, almost 4 months to the day later. Venus won't spend all that time in Scorpio, retrograding back out to Libra for 22 days in November. In all Venus will spend 3 ½ months in Scorpio, creating some very special months including second chances. This is the longest time Venus has spent in Scorpio since 2002.

Even in Virgo, where along with the Pisces ruled area of your chart there have been huge challenges in the past, things are falling into place. It's in Virgo that this month's New Moon falls on the 8th September, but with Mercury in retrograde motion until the 13th September, it won't be until after that that there is any real momentum. Once the Sun leaves Virgo on the 23rd September and Mercury on the 4th October, things will finally be where you need them to be and it will be decades before this is ever a challenging area of your chart again. Yet it's here that you have the most resilience, strength and momentum. There is also a special relationship developing between the Virgo and Capricorn ruled areas of your chart this month, with Mercury turning direct in Virgo on the 13th September and Pluto in Capricorn on the 14th September, ending a 5 month retrograde phase.

In every area of your chart that is active this month there are turnarounds taking place, with the challenges of last month making way for a month full of huge opportunities and some of the best conditions for a very long time. It's not often that the months are this extreme, because for the most part life goes along with its ups and its downs and while you have months that are a little worse or a little better than others, you mostly get months that are a mix between the two. What you don't often get are months that are extremely difficult and extremely positive next to each other. It's as though the pendulum has swung as far as possible to the negative and now as far as possible to the positive.

Enjoy the month because we all deserve it, with your Individual Monthly Horoscope Reports detailing what's happening and where, for your Star Sign.

All the very best for the coming month
